Welcome to Anchors Aweigh Training! (aka: Heather’s Ramblings)
This site has multiple functions: a way to spread health and fitness to the masses, a “friend” whom I can chat with, and, let’s face it: cheap therapy. I’ll post about my daily life. The endless shenanigans my family gets into (ever have a 7-year old boy, a 10-year old Great Dane, a 1-year old Great Dane, and a 2-year old Saint Bernard? Chaos. Serious chaos), workouts that I myself do and workouts that I take my clients and classes through, recipes, and more workouts.
If I can boost your mood, health, and fitness level, then I consider my job done! Let the
torture, ahem, fun begin!
Okay, so, why “Anchors Aweigh”? First off, I love boats and ships. I’m actually not a “beachy” person. I could care less about the beach. I love harbors! The sounds of sails snapping, the clanking of pulleys, the gentle rocking… I could go on and on, but that’s not why we’re here… Second, we ALL have some thing, some one, some obstacle that’s holding us back from our true potential. We can move around slightly, but we’re really just going in circles, staying in the same vicinity of where we started. Hello, “Anchor.” Now, what do people yell when they want their ship to sail? “Anchors aweigh!” (Hey, in my world, that’s totally what happens. Just go with me on this one…) And now it’s time for all of us to get down to brass tacks and work on getting that damn anchor (in whatever form our anchors may come in) out of our way and show the world we mean business!!!
A little bit about moi: I am a 20-something about to be a 30-something (I swear, I’m the only one of my friends that’s actually looking forward to my 30s!). I am a personal trainer, a group exercise instructor, a mommy, and a general weirdo. 😉 I think humor is the spice of life, and boy, I hit the jackpot! My life is the whole dang spice rack! 😉
PS~ I am pretty comfortable showing my personality through this website. I can be sarcastic, brash, and just plain honest. But please know, it is NEVER my intention to hurt or verbally abuse someone! If we disagree, then, hey, great! We need variety in this world! So if I offend anyone, I apologize, that was never my intention. Please contact me at HeatherHallPWC@gmail.com so that we can talk privately. With that being said, there are plenty of resources on the internet for helping with health and fitness, and this one may not be for you.
Also of note, although I am a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association (NESTA), a Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM), and a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, the information and exercises that I put on this website should in no way, shape, or form take priority over what your licensed medical physician tells you. I am not a doctor (waaaay too much school for me!), so please make sure that you consult your doctor before implementing my advice into your lifestyle.
